Course Descriptions

Courses offered by Hibbing Community College are described in this section.  One-time course offerings (workshops and mini-classes) are not included.

Prerequisites for some courses have been established to ensure that students have an adequate background for those courses.  In order to waive a prerequisite for a given course, a petition requesting a waiver must be approved by the instructor of the course and the Dean of Student Services.

Students who intend to register for individual-study courses must obtain an application form from the Student Services Office prior to the sixth instructional day of the semester in which the course is to be taken, and must submit the completed application form to the instructor for approval. No more than one individual study course may be taken in any one discipline per semester.  Individual study credits do not meet the general education distribution requirements for a degree.
