Department/Program Description

Our goal is to provide students with a variety of courses that will develop skills in creative problem solving and critical thinking.  Students are challenged to explore the expressive nature of materials and process. By developing personal strategies students grow to understand visual communication in supportive and lively environments. These sustaining experiences and the knowledge gained can be applied to many vocations and academic goals.  The curriculum is designed to prepare students for transfer to baccalaureate programs and a variety of creative employment areas.

Transfer and Employment Opportunities

An Associate's of Art prepares students for direct transfer to a broad spectrum of academic directions.  The skills gained will prepare students to move beyond the foundational aspects of academics to a focus on a specific area of study.  The employment opportunities range from graphic design and studio artist to architecture and advertising.
